He rose to fame as the former reality star who tried to salvage his ailing marriage on Seven Year Switch.

But more than a year on from his time on the Seven series, Ryan Thistleton has debuted his new muscular frame while competing at a bodybuilding competition.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the 35-year-old flexed his rippling muscles and bulging biceps at the Gold Coast event where he won three silver medals.

Flaunting extremely bronzed flesh, Ryan showcased his incredible washboard stomach and super-toned limbs while participating in the competition.

Accompanying the images, the dad penned a lengthy post, describing his transformation as ‘a challenge of self discipline.’

‘I discovered an ability I never knew I had, it was one of the toughest things I’ve ever done – mentally and physically – but it took me all the way to a World Natural Body Building Championship,’ he wrote.

In subsequent images, Ryan is seen being congratulated by his kids, Cass, Emerson and Mena – from his marriage to ex Cass Thistleton – who kissed and cuddled proud dad.

It’s been more than two years since Ryan and estranged partner, Cass starred on Seven Year Switch.

Their relationship has been damaged due to the traumatic loss of their unborn child in 2013.

Based on the American series of the same name, the Seven network show featured four married couples whose relationships were in turmoil, swapping partner for 14 days and reuniting to decide whether to give it another go.

The couple – who had a teenage romance before going their separate ways only to reconnect eight years ago – appeared to survive the social experiment in March 2016.

And months later, they welcomed the birth of baby girl Mena.

But shortly after in February 2017, the pair shocked fans by announcing the split.

At the time, Cass told New Idea: ‘Staying together for your children is not the right reason, you need to be happy’.

The pair remain on friendly terms and both care for their three daughters.
