Eglin Air Force Base captain dies hours after fitness test – Pensacola News Journal
A captain with the U.S. Air Force died early Saturday, hours after experiencing health complications following a fitness test, Eglin Air Force Base said Monday.
Capt. Tranay Tanner, 29, completed the fitness test early Friday and was taken to the base hospital around 8:30 a.m. that day, according to a news release from the base.
“Due to the serious nature of her condition, she was transferred to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, at approximately 1:30 a.m.,” the release stated.
The base said Tanner was assigned to its Operational Test and Evaluation Center and that her death is under investigation.
