UFC 229 Video! McGregor Wins Octagon Debut With KO Of Brimage

Conor McGregor will make his return to the cage tonight (Sat., Oct. 6, 2018) at UFC 229 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he takes on undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In preparation for the massive PPV event, the promotion has opened up its vault and released a corresponding “KO of the Week” video, which can been above in its entirety.

This time around the action focuses on McGregor’s Octagon debut back at UFC on Fuel TV 9 over five years ago. “Notorious” wasted little time hunting down opponent Marcus Brimage and laying some lethal hands on the veteran fighter. McGregor utilized a few lead uppercuts before scoring a fight-ending combination just 67 seconds into the first round.

Little did we know this finish would spark one of the most legendary careers in combat sports history.

Only time will tell if McGregor can put this same type of beating on Khabib this weekend in Las Vegas. It has been two years since “Notorious” stepped inside of the Octagon, but it may only take the Irishman a minute to remind fight fans why he has ascended the sport so quickly.

MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC 229 fight card on fight night (click here), starting with the Fight Pass “Prelims” matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET, then the remaining undercard balance on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET, before the PPV main card start time at 10 p.m. ET.
